Instructions to Authors

Manuscripts are accepted exclusively in electronic form in MicrosoftŽ WordŽ, ie. *.doc and *.docx (eventually *.rtf) file format.

1. How to write text

Text

The entire handwriting should be structured as follows in particular in the book of the individual parts

Manuscript should be divided into more files (eg. by chapter) with a description of the structure and order given in separate file. Careful attention should be paid to continuous paging and unified registry apparatus , bibliography and especially footnotes.

Text is to be supplied without complicated formatting, paragraphs are terminated correctly ( ie by pressing ENTER), at the beginning is not entered manually Tab offset or multiple spaces (offset by paragraph style does not matter) . It is necessary to use no word splitting. For writing the best way is to use the basic fonts of Word.

In the manuscript, there won’t be used (in particular)

Special requirements for the typesetting should be communicated / agreed separately (eg in the form of a "pattern")

When Word revision system is used preparing the handwriting (fixes , tracking changes, comments), you have to unify the text ( accept or reject the corrections, skip comment, etc.) before passing the handwriting. The handwriting must not contain ambiguities (such as multiple variants) or internal notes by authors / proof readers / reviewers when submitted to the typesetting.

For the text layout, use unified title / subtitle hierarchy preferably using Word styles (eg. bold, size, ) and / or hierarchical enumeration (decimal system). The smallest possible structure (number) of title levels should be used . The entire handwriting is to be continually paginated.

You can use italics or bold fonts to mark the text . Don’t use underlining, bold italics, and interspersed font (in case of necessity the only choice is WordŽ character style, never introduce spaces between characters manually). When marking the text using capitals and small caps, the relevant Word text styles should be used.

Only characters writable directly by keyboard or insertable by "Insert Symbol" commands can be used. UNICODE character set allows to use “exotic" characters of different national alphabets (name and characters beyond the Latin alphabet).

The footnotes in the text must be created using generic WordŽ apparatus. NEVER insert the footnotes "manually" ( ie using sub/superscript) . Footnotes should not be (if possible) used in tables. However, when used anyway, it is appropriate to use a separate footnote system for the table.

If mathematical expressions are inserted in the text, they should be created by Equation Editor or MathType (or inserted as vector drawings).

Tables

Tables are to be created using

Tables should not be used for such text formatting, which in fact has NOT the structure of a table (eg. columns, indented paragraphs, etc.) and can be achieved by standard text formatting tools. As mentioned above, the typesetting technology used does not accept WordŽ footnotes in tables, numbering of footnotes in the text is therefore broken and notes placed in tables may even disappear .

However, if footnotes must be used in the table, it is appropriate to use a separate footnotes wit different index numbering.

Picture attachments

The image documentation must be supplied in electronic form *) . Pictures can be pasted in text, however, it is imperative to provide them for the typesetting as separate files in sufficient print quality, since WordŽ Text Editor irreparably damages images in format, resolution and quality .

Separate graphics files must be clearly labeled with description of their placement in the text .

Formats and resolutions for image materials in electronic form :

Bibliographies, registers and attachments

must be delivered together with the whole handwriting - as a part of it .

Copyright

The text of the manuscript and the illustrations must be protected by copyright (ie quoting sources for the third - party pictures illustrations keeping public resources rules/conditions of use, etc.)

2. Processing of proofs

For proof-readings, the typesetting is supplied in the pdf format open for writing annotations.

The handwriting should always be supplied in final form. The proof-readings are not intended to introduce significant substantive changes to the manuscript, the aim of proof readings is to correct the typesetting errors, not to finalize the manuscript!
